Vita
Irene Schwarz was born in Vienna in 1987. The second of five children, she grew up in a musical family.
Even in her early childhood and youth, she had the constant need to express herself artistically and it was clear to her early on that art would determine her future path in life. She immersed herself for countless hours in her own work in the various fields of visual arts. Drawing, painting, carving, sculpting and stone carving as well as studying the works of great artists have always been among her favourite pastimes.
After a year of study with the sculptor and handcrafts teacher Karl-Heinz Knigge in Graz, she completed a four-year study of sculpture with Christian Hitsch nearby Salzburg. She went on to study piano pedagogy at the University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna.
The artist has been living in the Netherlands since 2019, where she works as a freelance sculptor and teaches piano in The Hague.
